I was asking on how to use it. There are so many things that are unclear when it comes to Ami. Should I buy data or load from a free source? Will it provide me EOD data for last few years or only intra day? When I buy data, if it provides me only fno data, then I can't even see the stock chart on a historical basis. So many things that are unclear.
I had seen that thread but that's very scattered. Thought it would be beneficial to start a fresh one for a complete beginner
There are many threads on this in the Amibroker section of TJ... anyways here is the thing..
1. You can connect your NEST/NOW/TT to feed data to Amibroker. But this will give you intraday chart only for as many days as your broker provides. Meaning.. lets say your broker provides 20 days of data in ur NEST.. then you will be able to feed this in real time. This is helpful if you trade only intra in 2-3 scripts at max... it becomes little cluttrey if you want to feed more than 10 scripts. Look for thread by josh in Amibroker section.
2. For EOD you can use an utility called GETBHAVCOPY.. wid this you can get data from 1994 till today. but again this provides only EOD data and you have to download everyday. (google it..easily available)
3. (best thing to do according to me).. buy data service. there are many available (search amibroker data service provider in google). Price would range anywhere from 500-600 to 1000-1200 per month. They will provide intra+EOD data and no need to connect to NEST... but some of the data services have some lag of 3-5 secs in real time.
