Amibroker database mystery

#1
hi i have a mysterious prob . my nse intraday database had a data for around 6 months . today while real time data was updating , my amibroker crashed , later when i opened amibroker , i see that all the previous data is not showing up in amibroker ,(msg says there are not enough bars to show charts ).

i i went to amibroker folder in c drive and checked that database size , it shows about 100 MB. This confirms , the database is fine , but somehow amibroker doesnt read it .

Does anybody know the solution to this prob or has anyone faced such a prob before ?

First, a backup copy of the database directory as it may be due to a corrupted file or bad patch on the hard disk.

Second, read the Ami help file under Technical Information -> Troubleshooting and try the options given under Reason: Corruption of some data files.

Third, try the files under Technical Information -> Files used by AmiBroker, specially broker.master, broker.workspace, broker.layers.

Last, give up. Look around for data and ASCII import. (Maybe, do this second )

Please guide on how to take a daily backup of data and how to restore in case of a crash.

Its very easy, copy the particular database folder to other drive like D:/ and save it. In cash of crash, delete the database folder from Amibroker folder and copy the saved database from D Drive and paste inside amibroker folder. That's it.
