HELLO,
Im posting again for help..i know lots of info available in ths thread..howevr i could get very lil..im getting diificulty at basics... 1)how to select symbol for stks(downloaed frm yahoo) 2)how to selcet market as NSE/BSE reqd only EOD ..intrday dnt need it........ i hav been using EI2000 frm technical trends(EOD){now subscription over}..it has data download n charting facility ..so nevr need to download data frn nse or yahoo or etc....thts why im getting problm wth amibroker.. so kindly get back to me abt AMIBROKER , i hav downloaded free amibroker(trial)4.90.. so traderji or any membr who used amibroker .....plz help us step by step wth simple words ..i know asking too much..bt come forward n help waiting for repliessssssssssssss my mail id is sharestrader@yahoo.co.in thnx in advance n Regards, sharestrader

Hi Murthymsr,
i am trying to load both nse and bse data in metastock. But in bse data, the sectors are different than those you attached in "Files" file. I needed your help in defining sectors for industries listed in bse. I am attaching a file, just give it a glance and give me some suggestions: I downloaded the bse bhavcopy where all the industries are defined. Problem is which industry should be set in which sector. regards ashutosh

The Sector and industry list will be different for the BSE for the simple reason the number of stocks quoted on the BSE is far more than NSE. The list provided here is for NSE only. I had downloaded your files and used it very easy, Thank you very much for service. I have some problems faced during downloading data for NSE symbols in Ami Quote downloader. I have used your symbols for downloading data many of of the symbols are error 404 from yahoo finance website. Please help me to solve this problems? Regards. mani_dakshu

The NSE codes are different from the Yahoo codes. We have used NSE codes. If I remember correct the difference is slight... the number of characters. Yahoo cods are limited to nine characters to nine and so stock codes with more than nine characters will give error. regards Karthik

I am mani, I had got some error message when used Ami Quote downloader, the downloaing EOD data from yahoo finance the following error message are displayed. "Error during download. Yahoo! - 404 Not Found. Either the symbol is incorrect ro there is a problem with the data vendor's site." Your reply for my questions regarding downloading EOD data from yahoo finance. most of the NSE symbols are more than 9 characters, you told that it is defer from Yahoo finance, now what is the NSE yahoo finance symbols.
