I download Bhavcopy for equity using Getbhavcopy.com and commodity bhavcopy using MCXIndia website.
Every time I've to use import wizard to get the data back into Amibroker. For Eg. if I set up Amibroker to receive bhavcopy from getbhavcopy.com then it won't accept bhavcopy from MCX. I've to again use import wizard to get mcx bhavcopy into amibroker. Is there any way I could set the wizard to receive different bhacopy into ami.

Yes u have to import the eod data in ami .

do1 thing - for getbhavcopy write a format file - according the data format of getbhavcopy data and another format file for the mcx data -. and import the data via import ascii - only specifying the specific format files. it will take the data.

example

1. getbhavcopy - format file = gbc.format
2. mcx - format file = mcx.format

when importing thru "import ascii", for gbc data use gbc.format and for mcx data use mcx.format

I had used data downloader earlier which did a decent job of importing EOD data from NSE & MCX into text files & easily got imported into Amibroker (without any changes to be done).

http://www.volumedigger.com/Software/Data_Downloader.aspx

Hope this helps
certain changes r required - as eod data doest not contain OI, where as mcx/futures data contains OI. so u have to specify the format file - as 2 type of data is a bit different ( in ur case u treat all the eq and futures data as same and u directly imported the data. - look at ur database of mcx data - it will not contain the OI dat1a)

Mate,

Kindly can you share the Amibroker format file as well which is used to import the txt file.Thanks.
yes i can share the format files - but u cud have possibly done that (its not a rocket scince)

1. for equity data [save as eq.format]
# Format definition file generated automatically
# by AmiBroker's ASCII Import Wizard
$FORMAT Ticker,Date_YMD, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume, Skip
$SKIPLINES 0
$SEPARATOR ,
$CONT 1
$GROUP 255
$AUTOADD 1
$DEBUG 1
$NOQUOTES 1
2. for futures data - [save as fut.format]
# Format definition file generated automatically
# by AmiBroker's ASCII Import Wizard
$FORMAT Ticker, Date_YMD, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume, OpenInt
$SKIPLINES 0
$SEPARATOR ,
$CONT 1
$GROUP 255
$AUTOADD 1
$DEBUG 1
$NOQUOTES 1

Hello Sr

I did create two format files named NSE.Format and Commodity.Format using import wizard. Still the problem persists. What happens is Amibroker remembers the last import, say if I import equity bhavcopy from GBC then I can not import mcx bhacopy. So again I've to use import wizard, set everything up and import. If my last import is mcx bhavcopy then I've to again use wizard to import GBC bhavcopy.

Any solution to this?

u can use the "import ascii" under File Menu where u have to choose the ascii data file and the format file and it (ami ) will do the import itself. just simple
