Hi guys Im new to trading, traderji and amibroker so I require a lot of help from senior members of traderji to clarify my doubts.
I have downloaded data 10yrs EOD data to amibroker with Getbhavcopy s/w and i have adjusted for symbol change for the data too and I have done this in my laptop.
So my question is. is it possible to backup this data and transfer the same to amibroker in my desktop? If yes? Then how ?

I did this recently, Desktop to Laptop.

Jotting down what i did, see wherefrom it applies to you.

1. Installed Amibroker on the second machine, my "Path" to Amibroker on both machines is the same. ie. both installed on "D:\Program Files\Amibroker"

2. I copied the Amibroker folder (and all subdirs) onto the second machine with "over-write everything".

That does it.

You can transfer any database to any PC and open that data base on a different PC. no problem. Either open it via File>Open database

Then after restarting Amibroker you can re-open that data base via File>Recent files.

Or you can make it to start automatically by going to tools>preferences>data>pick and choose path to your database to make it your preferred data base.

Apart from copying the complete Amibroker folder which cumbersome and time-consuming especially when the data is 10 years.

With the help of a simple AFL we can save data as per our desired interval and the same can be saved in Pen drive or DVD's.
In one of my blog post I have described it elaborately.

go the through the link and in case if u have any queries we can clarify those on Traderji.

You don't need to export data to backup your data base. That makes no sense. Simply make a .rar or .zip archive out of each data base and save it to any place you want. If you want to re-use those zipped data bases again just unzip them on your new location and open it with Amibroker. In addition if you just wanna save one symbol's data simply go to the folder that contains your symbol in the data base (i.e. got to folder "a" in your data base if you wanna save AAPL) and copy that data file to any place you want to back it up or zip that too. Then for your new data base that needs that symbol just create that symbol in Amibroker first (in the menu bar -> Symbol > "New...") then close Ambroker then copy the symbol's data that you've formerly saved and go to the appropriate folder of your new created data base (i.e. again go to folder "a" for symbol AAPL) and insert it there. Then re-open Amibroker et voila there you have your old data. No need to export your data via AA. That's what I call time consuming.

CSV data file can be used on other platforms too(apart from AB) and provides freedom to do Excel-based calculations and charting.
the best advantage is that one can have periodic data of his choice and quotes can be manually edited to remove freak quotes( if any) without using AB quote editor.
