Hi guys,
I have just started playing with Amibroker. Kindly provide your suggestion as per my pocket and requirements.

  • I am not an intraday trader. So RT hasn't to be exact RT. Some delay of 1 or 2 sec is acceptable.
  • There should be facility for back-fill
  • EOD data should be provided
  • iEOD data also needed, if possible.
  • NSE indices cash stocks required
  • Future and option data not necessary
  • My broker is Sharekhan, and I am using Trade Tiger which is very good at charting.

My main purpose is to review the day's action. My budget is not more than 600 per month.

After going through forums, I have realized that for my budget, I will get only snake-oil data like those scrapped from Yahoo, PIB, ODIN, etc and not any genuine feed. Now the question is whose snake is better? I know truedataindia and market-data-provider.

Please pour your suggestions. Meanwhile, I am also going through different threads on the forum.

PS: I know my budget is a bit crappy-like, but my needs and purpose don't warrant a lavish budget either.

Thank you,
-Bunny.

I use MDP and I have tried TDI in evaluation version (with full capability, as given on their site)

I like MDP much better and I think their RT1 package would suite you best.

I know you have already heard about them. Frankly what is the problem other then the assumption that they might be scrapping the data from odin/pib?
They provide quality feed and thats all that should/would matter imho. Software is VERY light on resources and they also back everything up with good online support.

P.S. Metastock compatibility is crappy (dont know how other providers support it) but works really great with amibroker. When you install MDP, a plugin for amibroker also gets installed, and you get real time/eod data as and when you open any chart. Also you can backfill it for offline use.

P.P.S. I am in no way related to them other then being their customer.

I am just trying to get the best bang for my bucks! Since I will be buying snake-oil anyways, I have to factor in other things too.

RT2 package for current month future data.

RT3 for all three month data.

I wouldnt suggest getting yahoo feeds with any provider. If you are paying, atleast pay for something with decent quality. If you rather opt for yahoo feeds, look for free data fetchers and dont pay for it at all.

Bunny I second MDP and have been using it for quite some time now and really satisfied with them. If you are looking for a free resource, I guess not , then there are couple of alternatives ... QuoteTracker is one and they do not seem to download it from Yahoo.. they have a free stream I guess from some other place or maybe their server. for Yahoo you have couple of other free tools on this forum as well.. ManshiRT works fine.. ChartsData is another that you probably know already.

I use TT too, the best n easiest for technical analysis, but it doesnt have stock screener, So TT users need amibroker to scan stocks which meets our trading conditions. U cant watch hundreds of stokcs to find trading opportunities both in Eod n Intraday
