Firstly, you must assign an index(symbol) to the market you are tracking. For example, if you are tracking all the NSE stocks and the NSE index you are tracking in AmiBroker is ^NSEI, then,
1) go to Symbol -> Categories. 2) Select the market you are interested in - typically this may be Market 0. 3) On the right side, in the Composites drop-down select ^NSEI (NSE Index). Then press OK. 4) Now go to Menu -> Symbol -> Calculate Composites. 5) Check Number of Advancing / Declining Issues. Also select All Quotes (first time) or Last N quotes (subsequently). 6) Press Calculate and close window. 7) Now, select the chart of ^NSEI symbol or any other symbol in that Market. 8) Plot the indicator "AD Ratio - Advance Decline Ratio". 9) The A/D ratio is plotted in the indicator sub-window. If you want to access the formula or display it yourself, then use the following code : Plot( AdvIssues()/DecIssues(), _DEFAULT_NAME(), ParamColor( "Color", ColorCycle ) ); Remember, this value will be same across all symbols within that market. Hi folks,
Thanks Adheer for your inputs. My question to this forum is If I keep all the NSE indices in a folder and all the scripts in another seperate folder -> c:/ price Data/ Nse stocks & c:/ price Data/NSe Indices <- (they are essentially seen as two seperate databases/ markets by AB) and I want to calculate the AD for all NSE stocks then when opening the market for all stocks, i dont see the Nifty and so am not able to select it as base index for composites. what should I do? Is there a way to combine both the databases into one market/ folder and still have all of them updated? Should I structure my database differently? I appreciate any help. thanks in advance. |
