Default Purchasing Amibroker

I have few queries on purchasing Amibroker. Plesae give your vluable comments.

Q1. What is the difference between professional and standard versions?

Q2. Will Standard edition be sufficient for analysis of intraday data at the end of the day.

Q3. Is it possible to convert standard to professional if required in fututre.

Q4. Is there anybody selling AB as secondhands? Or ready to guide to get AB.

Regards
Ajeesh

Dear Ajeesh,

Answers to most of your questions are given on amibroker website. So do visit their site to know the same and more about the software.

Difference between their standard and professional version is given at http://www.amibroker.com/order.php in tabular format at the end of the page.

Answer to your 2nd question is yes.

You can convert standard to professional version by paying the difference as described on the same page as mentioned above.

I am not aware of seller of 2nd hand Amibroker nor the implications of buying the same from support, licencing point of view. FYI, it costs around Rs.8000/- in indian rupees for their latest 5.00.1 standard version which according to me is the best deal for the rich features it provides.

If you are keen on saving money on software, why don't you use Fibotrader, which is free ? There are already many threads giving information about this as well as other free charting softwares in 'software section'. You may find a current running thread by Soumya at http://www.traderji.com/software/657...-software.html very useful from this point of view.

Hope this helps.

Abhay

Hi Abhay

Thank you very much for your quick reply and valuable guidance.

If I purchase it, incase of system crash or virus attack, can I install it any number of times in my system?

Regards

Ajeesh
