Default Convert Excel RTDTo DDE or Import Live data from Excel

Hello gentlemen,

I have just discovered Amibroker and think it has amazing potential and am looking forward to my journey, however have encountered my first challenge.

My broker supplies live data in Excel RTD format NOT DDE. This presents a problem as Amibroker's plug in is only compatible with DDE and NOT RTD.

Therefore I am assuming I have two options:

1. Have a script written to convert the data from RTD to DDE. (The RTD program I have from my broker is in VBA)

2. Use excel as a DDE server for live quotes and configure Amibroker DDE accordingly

I have countless hours trying to do the latter, and as I have no programming skills, I respectfully ask for any assitance with either option.

I'm sure my problem is not unique. (Of course things would be much easier if Amibroker just released a RTD plug in. Afterall DDE was superceded in 2002 when Microsoft introduced RTD)

Many thanks

Barnzee

Hi Naveen,

the broker is fpmarkets.com.au and the platform is iress (iress.com.au) in australia and is equities only. The RTD feed updates every time prices change in the same row. It does not add a new row.

I can send the VBA project if you want to see it.

regards

Barnzee

Hi Raju,

I don't really understand what you are asking. The RTD feed is an excel add in that iress programmed. What I need to do is either convert this to DDE somehow or use excel (where I already have my live data) as a DDE server and use Amibrokers DDE plug in to read from excel. Unfortunately I don't know how to do either and was wondering if someone could help.

I would imagine it would be easier just to use excel as a DDE server, but I need help configuring the AB plug in to read from excel
