Amiquote is used to download data from internet. If you are manually importing ascii EOD files, there is no need of Amiquote. But as you are getting amiquote along with Ami professional edition, I think you need not worry about it any more.

I believe it is not included. I checked their website. Only Ultimate pack ($327) comes with it. Otherwise it is $49.
So it looks like I will need it if I want to download data automatically. Will it cost extra (per month?) or it can download data from my brokerage (ameritrade and firsttrade)?

I purchased version 4.9, which included Amiquote. For data you will have to pay. That is not included in the software. Free EOD data can be downloaded from *****. Some members in this forum have put an elaborate procedure explaining importing of ***** RT data in to Amibroker, which will also be free. Of course, I have not tried it and I have no experience about it. I am clueless about data from Ameritrade and firsttrade. You can contact Amibroker site owners for clarifications. Their response is good.
