Hello AmiBroker Users,
I would like share the watchlists I created using the NSE symbols from the NSE website. These watchlists were built programatically by processing the data from NSE website. In AmiBroker, a watchlist can be created by creating a text file that contains the symbols in that watchlist. This file is renamed with the extension ".tls" and then saved to the Watchlist directory of the AmiBroker database. AmiBroker automatically understands that a new WatchList was created the next time it is run. The WatchList contains 15 CNX Indices & Sectors. (e.g. CNX 100, CNX Nifty etc) 74 Industry Groups (e.g. Banks, Power, Refineries) F&O Scrips Watchlist. See the attached image "watchlists.gif" Caveat The symbols in the watchlist are *****! Finance format. For example the symbol for ACC is ACC.NS, likewise Colgate is COLGATE.NS. To convert a NSE symbol to ***** format, take (upto) the first 9 characters of the NSE symbol and add ".NS" To Install the Watchlists 1. Close / Exit AmiBroker if open. 2. Unzip the contents of the WatchLists.zip file to your AmiBroker database WatchLists directory. The zip file contains 90 watchlist files (.tls). 3. Now start AmiBroker. 4. In the Symbols tree, open Watchlists folder and you should see 90 watchlists added to you existing watchlists. (See watchlists.gif) Please let me know of your experiences. I look forward to sharing various trading tools with the board members. Happy Trading, Adheer. |

To determine the Watchlists directory ...
1. Select menu : File ---> Database Settings. 2. The watchlist directory will be "Watchlists" under the Database Folder. For example, if the Database Folder is "C:\StockQuotes\NSE" then the Watchlist folder will be "C:\StockQuotes\NSE\WatchLists" |
