Hi all

I want to delete data for that scripts for a particular date in AMIBROKER.
Kindly tell me how to do that

dear goyal,

abstract from the AB help file: (i have not tried!)

To delete quotations of all stocks from given day you should use Edit->Delete session.
may be, you would like to replace and NOT delete the quotes for a particular day for ALL the stocks. in that case, you may import the new data for that date and the old one may be replaced. you may also try this.

Dear Murthy Sir,

I had tried it but was not able to do i could not find out the reason. Now being a weekend i will ry to find out more on it.

Regarding overwring quotes i wanted to delete all quotes from Intraday data as my quotes cllected through CoolRC got corrupted (PC rebooted and restart caused volume to total for the day till that time). I tried to delete that particular tick also by delete Session but wiout result. I my be possible that delete session works only when the data is not saved to harddisk by before closing AMIBROKER (Sessin).

Thanks

Hello,

If you want to delete all your intraday database then go to Symbol, Organise Assignments, Select all individual scrips using shift button and delete. Mind you it will delete your whole data base if all scrips are selected. This method is good if you have another good intraday data or a good copy of existing intraday data. All you have to do is after deleting your database use import wizard to import good data.

saji,
I too wanted to reduce size of my database. I used method suggested by you, retained a few scrips in database and deleted others. Now I have a lightened database and ami is working faster.
Thanks and regards

Hello Rajeev,

Here is another method to delete data for a particular date. Go to Symbol, Quote editor and delete what you want. For more details go to helpfile and use search function type in quoteeditor and see the details.
