number one trading software is trade station but it is not free and data problem
ninjatrader is secound best free software and more software vendors develops software for this.i am tried all softwares but find best is ninjatrader.
if you starting fresh go for ninjatrader more feature rich software can not compare with amibroker.

I have also very less knowledge so cant comment with authority.
But have seen many people say that Ami is lighter/quicker, hogs less processor resources. Thriving community
NT is good but clunky, stalls, no doubt good for OFA.

The issue needs inputs/discussion from seniors.:D

Ami is easy to configure
Historical data for ami is easily available
Ami afls are easily available and one may get help in coding afls.

while

Ninja is not that easy to configure, more or less difficult
Historical data not easily available or one has to convert data for Ninja format.
Ninja codes are not easily available.

As, RT data via trading terminal is now available for Ninja as well (Josh utility), so no problem for real time charting, though.

Can you please highlight some of the things that can be done in ninjatrader and cant be done in amibroker? (Other than order flow)

Just for my info. As you have tried both the things so you can answer better.

Thanks
AmiBroker is miles ahead of Ninjatrader and Tradestation. There is (almost) nothing that can not be done. Calling NT more feature rich is a joke for a life time!

ninjatrader has got excellent graphic capability.
because of it can display OFA ,all sorts of charts like minute, ticks, volume, renko, range, point and figure and so on.
same chart you can plot multiple time frame multiple instruments and many more possibilities.
for ninja trader hundreds of software developers are there.
you can not compare with simple afl like crossovers and breakouts.
complex trading systems available for ninjatrader.
you can build and test complex trading systems with bloodhound software without writing single code.
it is not a joke that 2.5lakhs traders using trade station and 1.5 lakhs of ninja trader.
only draw back of ninja 7 is not multi threaded and ninja 8 multi threaded.

AMIBROKER superior in scanning.if you want scan and trade then amibrokers is best.if you are offline trader go for amii.
i am using all three softwares ami mt4 and ninja, previously metastock not now.
only after thorough testing all these three softwares i prefer ninja.

The same you can do in AmiBroker.

Stop talking nonsense!

Complex systems in Ninjatrader? You must be joking.
Ninjatrader isn't even able to handle portfolios.

you can build and test complex trading systems with bloodhound software without writing single code.
Dude, apperantly you have no clue about AmiBroker at all. Just admit it and live with it. But saying you can't build complex trading systems in AmiBroker is a blatant lie. Why am I even responding to that.

it is not a joke that 2.5lakhs traders using trade station and 1.5 lakhs of ninja trader. only draw back of ninja 7 is not multi threaded and ninja 8 multi threaded.
AmiBroker is used at Wall Street firms besides of private investors/traders. Ask Tomasz Janeczko. Stop telling clueless things. Just because something costs more doesn't mean it is better. In fact AmiBroker is a better software despite being cheaper than those two mentioned ones.

Ninjatrader 8 now even tries to copy AmiBroker features being there for years and and at the same time it has been in beta phase for hundred of years and will be in beta phase for another hundreds of years. Which professional institution would use such a software? I know of none.

What you prefer is not my business but stop spreading false facts about AB. It 's pretty obvious that you are an amateur on that field.
