ninjatrader has got excellent graphic capability.
because of it can display OFA ,all sorts of charts like minute, ticks, volume, renko, range, point and figure and so on.
same chart you can plot multiple time frame multiple instruments and many more possibilities.
for ninja trader hundreds of software developers are there.
you can not compare with simple afl like crossovers and breakouts.
complex trading systems available for ninjatrader.
you can build and test complex trading systems with bloodhound software without writing single code.
it is not a joke that 2.5lakhs traders using trade station and 1.5 lakhs of ninja trader.
only draw back of ninja 7 is not multi threaded and ninja 8 multi threaded.

AMIBROKER superior in scanning.if you want scan and trade then amibrokers is best.if you are offline trader go for amii.
i am using all three softwares ami mt4 and ninja, previously metastock not now.
only after thorough testing all these three softwares i prefer ninja.
Dear MT4Trader,

Stop arguing with what is best. Few here might not knowing what is the full form of OFA either but still "Amibroker can do all this" for them.getting real time data for free is more important then being profitable at the end of the day. There is an old saying:

"Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with their experience."

Such arguments only degrade forum quality.

Very interesting conversation, I have recently bought Amibroker and I am still finding my feet, but my experience so far is just good. Glad I made the right choice to buy Amibroker.

@mt4trader, thank you so much for sharing your experience. :thumb:

Please do not mind the replies from trash. He is an Expert Coder in Amibroker, but his way of replying are full of arrogant and egoistic tone. I have myself felt offended by his replies in the past. Checkout a few of his previous posts, he has made many such posts earlier also. It is better if just focus on the Technical parts of his replies and forget the negative / egoistic emotion part.

This thread topic is very important for traders and we must welcome all views and counter views, no matter if we agree to those points or not.

I personally feel that for those traders who do a lot of scanning work to shortlist the probable trade candidates, Amibroker is better.

Thanks and regards

Except ofa, everything can be done in amibroker,

but ofa is holy grail?

Day trading is too stressful, why people need a much complicated software like ninja, when

user friendly software like amibroker is available,

From no-voice to price -action traders,

amibroker rocks,

A plain candle-stick range-bar chart is enough for a professional trader

not fancy stuffs and paintings-

i personally use amibroker and have very less frequently used NT. But the facts quoted by mt4 are correct that NT is moe suitable for complex strategies and amibroker sometimes feel lacking some important aspects. You code some strategies where x axis is not time and is some other variable amibroker will not be able to handle that. In amibroker x-axis is time, y can be anything else eg. volume, price, averages etc but x-axis is time that is the biggest bottleneck of ami.

If you have not come across some complex strategy where ami failed to do the job then you really cant comment on it.

One simple example can some one draw equivolume charts on amibroker ?

Code:
http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:chart_analysis:equivolume

Good Point. :thumb:
actually one of my strategy required to plot time on y-axis and amibroker gave me really hard times to get that coded which cud not be coded either due to limitations of amibroker.

equivolume can done through Kite Charts of Zerodha. as it is having option of plotting Volume candles.

Apart from tht in this Age of HFT and Alogs.. One needs to define What is "Complex Stretegy" and what are the simple ones.

There are people who find Pivot trading is Complex but OFA or for tht matter Renko Easy.

and even if those points are addressed, one should not Select for NT just for tht... NT is still bigger then this to the point tht Its full potential can't be used in Indian Trading and Investing environment. Specially the way NSE and SEBI are running things here.
