Yes Amibroker is good software. But the issue is default indicator are basic.
If Amibroker user can developed complex indicator why not Amibroker company. For Example OFA / Pair Trading /Market Profile/ etc. People will buy more and more Amibroker Licence if they found value for money.

AmiBroker's creator, Tomasz Janeczko, states:

"We are totally focused on creating advanced, highly customized technical analysis software. Our mission is to bring high quality software at a price affordable for every individual investor."

Hey Tomasz, - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

You can,t find any advertisement in anywhere about Amibroker. That,s reason for Amibroker not listed anywhere. Quality not depends on advertisement.....

Hello,

Forget about blackbox system.... If you learn AFL make your own system/indicator. For me I developed my own system using RSI and it give good result. The flexibility of Ami language is very superb. Once you learn it, it will give immense opportunities. Only imagination is needed.... Success not depend upon ready available indicator/system (both paid and free).

First of all the strategy must be simple and understandable to each trader. I own licensed version of all most all trading software. But now I choose only Amibroker because I can develop system using my imagination.

Ami is easy to configure
Historical data for ami is easily available
Ami afls are easily available and one may get help in coding afls.

while

Ninja is not that easy to configure, more or less difficult
Historical data not easily available or one has to convert data for Ninja format.
Ninja codes are not easily available.

As, RT data via trading terminal is now available for Ninja as well (Josh utility), so no problem for real time charting, though.

How to get real-time data feed on NinjaTrader 8 from NEST?

I have learned the process for NEST to Amibroker (using Josh's NESTRtd :clapping:).

Can the same be done in NinjaTrader from NEST?

Many thanks!

The debate of Ninja vs Amibroker is comical. Use what suits you. Do not make false claims about the other software. There are pros and cons for each.

If you have tried both and spent some time working with both, then you are qualified to have an opinion. Not just because you read something by an unknown person using the anonymity of the internet to express their opinion.

The Ninja fanboys keep saying that Amibroker is limited. It is not limited in any way. If you are at all familiar with C++ you will know that you computer operating system (whether you are using Windows or Mac) greatly depends on C++. You can do everything imaginable with C++ and thus everything on Amibroker.

Are other programming languages more specialized for certain tasks?

So you might want to use Java instead of C++, or Python instead of R. Yes and that means they may be simpler and more readily applicable to a chore than C++. Same with other trading platforms vs Amibroker. But if you have had even a brief look at system and indicator codes from both, what might take Ninja about 50 to 60 lines of code is done in Amibroker in 20 lines. A complex strategy in Ninja will require 500 lines compared to Ami's 200.

It's your choice. No point getting all defensive about your software. You didn't write it and you don't own the company so relax.
