Dear Traders,
Nowadays, due to optimism, Modi Sarkar etc, many posts are coming which claim profitable algos. I would like to warn people that having a profitable algo is a very difficult task and i personally took nearly 1 year of research before arriving at a good logic. (No one will be foolish enough to give you a profitable logic & you have to do your own research) I would recommend to try Paper Trading services of Symphony wherein you can validate whether you are going to make profit or your signals made on AmiBroker, Excel based macros etc will wipe your investments outs. For details http://symphonyfintech.wordpress.co...ership-join-the-paper-trading-revolution-now/

Be cautious, Be very cautious.

Also, this facility can be for .NET/JAVA/Python/C# based black box trading systems. I think this post will clear it for traders looking for Order Management System(http://symphonyfintech.wordpress.co...-looking-for-apis-of-order-management-system/). In a way, symphony is trying to capture Interactive Brokers market in India. IB does not offer it for MCX.

IB APIs are very robust and can vouch for them even in my sleep, but their commission is ten times what i am paying right now!!! https://www.interactivebrokers.co.in/en/?f=/en/software/ibapi.php
Thanks Algo for sharing this information. I also feel that IB brokerage is just TOO HIGH for even considering them as a viable option in this regard.

But I think that IB must be have some special plan for the Big Guys for sure, they might not have to pay such high charges to IB. But I am not sure if IB could be dumb enough to have the same brokerage structure for a guy with 5 crore monthly turnover and another guy with 5000 crore monthly turnover.

Hey Arun,

I generally feel that Amibroker is not built for algorithmic trading. Its a FAST backtesting tool, period. Users typically start facing issues when they try to take it to live trading environment.

I believe Java is a much better programming choice for taking a strategy to live markets, to algotrader.

Cheers!

It will take a normal person months just to get familiar with their platform and then developing a strategy might take years. also it might be possible that the strategy that you are trying to build may not be possible at all due to limitation of their platform. All these while they expect you to pay 1124 per month.
If it is a one time cost to filter out non serious traders I would not mind.

It would be great if you can throw some light on metadata details. Do we get Open/High/Low/Close/Volume/OI/Bid/Ask ticks or do we also have the historical data for last few days/weeks?

Completely agree. I made my jobbing logic via Java APIs. AmiBroker is for traders who are tech analysts.

Hi,
They provide Live raw broacast data that they say is called Level II:confused:
Anyways, i get top five bid top five ask values, qty etc (like when you press F6) so can use all these details for programming my algo.
