Veluriji thanks as always an excellent thread but not sure why enough contribution from members.

Request you to contribute towards good scalping setups with higher accuracy.

Also suggest a good book on scalping trade setup's if any.

Example crude oil - 20 trades a day - 5 points each.
100 points a day.

Thanks in advance.

5 point scalping.. looks nice to hear, and would be more beautiful on paper.. but in reality if you take 20 trades a day... two or three consecutive loss while scalping will affect your trading.. and there is every chance that your broker will become richer soon..:D

Thanks Friend.

I am jotting my opinion(dreaming :)) about scalping.As I don't have a real time exp in scalping.

Pls correct me if it is otherwise.

It is more popular in the forex trading. Most of the proprietary trading houses employ this strategy.
It is more profitable and hence it is little spoken.

Advantages of scalping
-----------------------------

1. No need to worry if a script is in a trending or trading range.
Even on a day with a little or insignificant move you can achieve your daily target.

2. Very little capital is required for trading.Just the margin amount of 1 lot + extra back up amount for initial draw downs if any.

3. Since scalping aims to capture very small price movements the accuracy will be very high.Returns will be spectacular if one doesn't break his own trading rules.

4. No over night crash worries.

5. We are beating the specialists in their own game.

6. Concentrating just one script will improve your trading efficiency and helps us to remain focused.

Regarding Brokerage Part - No worries
-------------------------------------------------

1.RKG - For one buy and sell transaction for crude comes about 54 rs.Just a point move I will gain 46 rs :).But I am aiming for 446 rs :)
If done with options for nifty your break even is just 24 rs I guess.

2.Bajaj Capital - 0.1 paise per hundred rupees which works out cheaper than RKG for futures transactions(Not options - RKG is better) but they don't have commodities.

3.There are brokers offering 5000rs monthly unlimited trade in the commodity segment.

Disadvantages:-
---------------------
I guess it will be very stressful since one has to continuously stare the charts the whole day.

Thanks Once again.

@Jagankris

Nice that you have different way of analyzing the market. But in my opinion i don;t trade just because broker has given you margin, or because of low brokerage.

Secondly, IMO, scalping is not for me, because you lose control over the number of trades, and the maintaining the success ratio is very difficult. May be that would be the reason that we have less scalpers very less.

Have you come across the thread " nac calling jobbers/scalpers" if not just visit the same.

hi jagankris

1. No need to worry if a script is in a trending or trading range.
Even on a day with a little or insignificant move you can achieve your daily target.

It would be very difficult to make money when the mkt is in a trading range. for my reasons check this thread
http://www.traderji.com/trading-psychology/35716-what-kind-trader-you.html

2. Very little capital is required for trading.Just the margin amount of 1 lot + extra back up amount for initial draw downs if any.

u are correct here.

3. Since scalping aims to capture very small price movements the accuracy will be very high.Returns will be spectacular if one doesn't break his own trading rules.

accuracy will be high is not the right way of putting it . accuracy ought to be high.
yes returns can be spectacular if the accuracy is high but the trading rules that u are speaking of can be highly subjective as scalpers mostly work on their intution.

4. No over night crash worries.

u are absolutely correct here.

5. We are beating the specialists in their own game.6.

As a scalper u urself become a specialist in some manner but beware after the advent of trading softwares, the field is open for big institutions as well as big brokers.

Concentrating just one script will improve your trading efficiency and helps us to remain focused.

right on the mark

Regarding Brokerage Part - No worries

BIG WORRY, as a scalper u would be paying the maximum amount of brokerage as compared to any other form of trading, and believe me it makes a huge dent to ur profitability. if u take ur own example of crude oil , u make only 46 rs when u gain one point and loose 154 rs when u loose one point.
even if u take up a 5000 rs. unlimited monthly package that u have mentioned above, u are not factoring in the exchange charges, stamp duty etc. which would be above this.

these are just my personal observations.

regards

Re: Staurt's Advanced Forex Strategy

Here is the strategy which appealed me the most.

Very good and very simple strategy. I have two doubts

(i) Why order to be placed before opening of trade? do u expect that we may not get the intended price thereafter?

(ii) Will this strategy work for Nifty Futures? Any way I shall try to paper trade
