To code and export VA data was beyond my skill level so i went ahead and did it the hard way(manually posted data to excel).Tested for open w.r.t VA ,2016 NF daily profile data.
Probability of open outside VA is 65%(40%above,25%below) and that of open inside VA is 35%.Open outside VA does'nt lead to better daily range.Minimum daily range is higher for open inside VA!!.
Conclusion Don't ignore a day just because open is inside VA.:).

What are the numbers 10,20,30.. in the first column? 2nd column I guess is frequency and 4th column seems like some percentage ?how is 3rd column calculated?

If you have done any backtest and please share your results here.Specially about the two results that i have shared. It would be great if you get similar results.

first column is the bin size ...refers to points movement in NF.2nd column is the frequency number.3rd column is the individual frequency in %.4th column is the cumulative frequency.

No BT Manish bhai, will be studying this in ongoing market. Nice results from you, very surprizing that open within VA gives higher daily range :) Let Xray bro comment on this.

Its not higher daily range. It is higher minimum daily range. One would think that such days are slow low range days but thats not true.Infact, open outside VA has higher probability of being a slow low range day.As far as day's range goes there is hardly any bias for getting higher daily range on average.I was also surprised by this.I was thinking of not trading on days when open inside VA.....more holidays....:D.....Stats say you have to trade everyday based on these numbers.:(

I am very new to all this. Just started using Amibroker. Will take some time to know all the nitty gritties. My first target is to start writing the trades and make a very valid journal. I have heard that all successful traders make detailed entries of their trades.

So you do forward test only and no backtesting?
