but its up again today. So its risen 40 % or so in the last 3 or 4 trading sessions.... all presumably because of news that it is getting into infrastructure etc (In fact, by the way, they changed their name to Pentium Mercantile from Pentium Infotech, and thats why their ICICI code is PENMER ) Another turnaround seems to be BCC Fuba (CMP 10.8)... judging by chart action and last quarter results http://finance.*****.com/charts#char...urce=undefined Any info here ? .....A great thread that you have started. It wil;lbe appreciated by Peter Lynch i am sure. ...........BTW The best turnaround story todat-- or may be almost the best-- is IFCI.It has cleaned up it's balance sheet ansd come into the black after almost 3 years.I have invested in the stock about 18 months ago at about 7 bucks. In another 18 months i think it should prove to have been a fruitful wait. do you????

That was smart of u ! By the way, u mean 30 (and not 18) mths ago i.e mid 2004 ... when it was below 10. And then it had almost tripled to 20 in early 2005 , when u cd have exited (in hindsight ... easy for me to say) http://finance.*****.com/charts#char...urce=undefined Yes I have also milked IFCI once in the past , but can't seem to predict its long term trend its all so politically driven, dont u think ?AGILENT |

Hi Agilent I sold 60% of it at 20 or so and had the rest at less than zero cost.then i accumulated more to average at 7 bucks. This is what i allways do--recover your investment with a little profit and hold on if i am convinced that better things are to come yet. There were three good companies that were ruined by political messing i.e IDBI,UTI,IFCI.All went into the red. The govt bailed out IDBI and UTI ;so i guessed that it would bail out IFCI as well. The Govt cannot kill it's own baby after nursing it to sickness. In the meantime the staff that had enough of waiting took VRS.The IFCI tightened up it's buisness and recovered much of it's NPA's due to the stock market boom aided by the ARC law.So it is political and will be settled soon and the IFCI has done well to clean up it's balance sheet. It has a good client base since the early 90s.It is more proffessional now. With the IDBI having opted to become a bank this is the institution for industrial project finance.I think it will do well in future. regards.
