Angry This is a betrayal...a big fraud....

Hello friends,

After getting fed up of the Historical data, on so many sites I could not find it. But on the traderji I found couple of utilities but to get rid of the problems of bonus & split finally I decide to buy the utility ML Downloader on the website http://www.trading-tools.com.

But it is a big big frustation & disappointment for me after paying 4000 Rs. for the utility it doesn't not download historical data as claim on the website.
I got the clarification on the mail is that

" It download the data from the ***** but as ***** has stop provided the data it is not downloading the historical data."

And the height of frustation is that they have not given their phone number to contact. Neither mailing adress. Only thing they have given shareit.com link.
After calling there was no technical support availble. And the man was only saying "I apologise ...I apologise....."

Friends this is a big lesson for me.... I want to share this with you so do not buy from the resources which you do not trust.....
That's why I feel so good when I open www.tradderji.com. Attitude of the people is so amazing....They do not charge a single rupee for providing such a valuable information for the retail investor....

hi milind,

any software which sources its datafeed from *****, cannot be split/bonus adjusted.

i myself made a worksheet (can be downloaded from: http://www.traderji.com/software/710...ownloader.html ) which downloads bse prices since 1991, but then also, its is not split/bonus adjusted, although the data sourced from the official bse website only. you have to manually adjust the same, i know its painful, but thats the only price you have to pay.

since you are willing to pay, you should have gone for an Indian data vendor, like viratech etc etc, instead of buying an international software. no point in blaming them, you should have done you homework more correctly.

again nse do also provides historical data on CD but at a cost. check the link for further info.

cheers,
jdm.

P.S. - you can download historical data from the nse website for free.

dear jdm,
yes, it is to be done manually only even if painful, but the software could reduce the pain!

the software after downloading the EOD data, may run a data purity algorithm, which apart from others, can possibly compare the yesterday's close price with today's open pricefor each stock and if the change is < -21%, it COULD be becase of bonus/split.

even the ratio can be estimated and suggested. but ultimate confirmation is to be done manually and after the confirmation of the bonus/split, the data can be adjusted by the TA software.

some TA software have this facility and the same can be done by data fetching software also. of course, it is more appropriate that the TA software, which is likely to have data well beyond what is being downloaded presently by the EOD program.

the EOD data fetching program may have a faility to make such a daat purity check, after which the user can verify and confirm from other sources about the bonus/split and makes the corresponding adjustments in the TA software.

as you yourself made a data fetching program, i made this post as you can appreciate the necessity and possibility better.

hope what i wrote makes some sense.

all the best.

hi murthy,
yup, software does reduces pain and nothing in impossible with software.

to my experience, with metastock, while dealing with splits manually, the downloader comes with a automated suggestions. sometimes its ok, but then sometimes one come up with ratio like 1:0. and its not a rare exception. but as you rightly said, "ultimate confirmation is to be done manually".

i also take this opportunity to thank you for digging up the old data/software links and putting the same in one-shop thread.

cheers,
jdm.

Default about the fraud.....

First of all sorry for new thread...
But I received an email from one of the member of the group called datafetchers@*****groups.com.
I am pasting it in the thread for the wellfare of members of traderji...
I would like to receive comments from the seniors of the traderji to guide junior members like me....

Milind

here is the email....

Hi!

This is a cyber crime... and we are all yet to get used to such loss of money for no reason.

If there is a website, there will be the IP address... that is unique.

I understand that some states have started a separate Police branch for cyber crimes. Check up with your Police Station and lodge a complaint alongwith a print-out of your mail correspondence with them. If that shows the IP address, you are lucky.

It is not a matter of loosing 4K. But if he guys are not caught, they shall be encouraged to go for higher stakes and more people shall suffer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And before I sent the above mail, I decided to do some checking myself.

If you type the url http://www.trading-tools.com it shows the IP address as 80.237.131.94

And to my surprise, this IP address belongs to some German company, that has a display as per attached file.

It also says that it is connected with www.hosteurope.de

Strange.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the guys seem to be smart Cyber Pirates. Evenif you complain to Cyber Police, catching them shall not be easy.

Thanks for warning other members.

hi milind,
to my knowledge trading-tools is quite a respected site. so there shouldn't be any problem on that front.

but the problem is the product they fish out is universal in use, and depends on independent data providers and not designed to be India specific.

since you are willing to pay you should look for options where the data vendor specializes in the Indian market itself.

cheers,
jdm.
