The default value for periods = 100. What would be a good value for swing trading.
hi gobatman2001,

don't rely on mechanical tools for finding support/resistence. eye is your best tool for that purpose.
i never used that tool.

thanks & best regards,

Hi,

I'd installed Fibotrader as per the first post and I'm not able to download any of the other mentioned files from **********. It tells that you can't further download from FREE option, as it has been downloaded .. times. If I choose PREMIUM it asks for username and password.

What shall I do?

Praveen.

Thumbs up Re: Fibotrader : An Excellent Free TA Software

Soumya, your contributions to this thread are commendable. I think Fibotrader is a good introductory platform for beginners in TA. Ease of use & a good help function ensures adequate guidance. A nice feel of the charts & indicators used. Soumya's thread with all the posts provide enough running assistance even to the daftest among us.

When I ok it, I'm asked "Do You want to start the databank assistant?"
The following database screen returns the original error message and so on until I refuse the database assistant when the program shuts down.

I have unzipped and pasted your main.mdb, to no avail. I cannot get to the screen for manual database assignment.

So what am I doing wrong?

My OP sys is Win XP SP2. Attached : 3 screen shot clips

Attachment 1955

Attachment 1956

Pls help.

we think this is due to a non compatible version of JET and MDAC. Fibotraderrequires MDAC 2.5 and JET 4.0. We recommend to simply install these componentsagain, enter them as search terms in the microsoft.com download portal andinstall the version for your operating system. Does this solve the issue? Wewill also improve the process and error messages if this happens in futureversions.

Hi Soumya, thanks a lot for your selfless service regarding the Fibotrader!!!

Just installed the software and all the updates (data, scripts as explained in message #1 on this thread). On launching Fibotrader, I get a message that says:

14:08 To many parameters (were ignored): Pivot lines

How to get rid of this one?
